Jewel Imaging Blog bio picture
  • Hello. Welcome to my blog!

Please check out our new fine art photography and graphic design business! www.paulandjewel.com

This blog is no longer active but it is a great chronicle through my initial first few years as a photographer. The blog started while I was at photography school in Massachusetts, covers my time working in Florida and Georgia, and chronicles our recent 6 month adventure working with orphans in Thailand. Thanks for visiting!

Spring in Savannah

Here are a few quick photos I took while I was in Georgia over Spring Break last week. I already miss relaxing in the sun and the sweet smell of blossoming trees. Here’s to hoping it will be this nice in New England soon, too.

Jess

Jess and I shot these photos together earlier this month in and around an old mill in Indian Orchards, Massachusetts. We took them for fun/portfolio-building (and I used one in my P3APS). These were my favorites. She is a happy-go-lucky architecture student and models when she isn’t too busy with school. I think that her intelligence and kind and dynamic personality shine through and really add to photos of her. I’m looking forward to working with her again! Feedback/comments/critique welcome.

I don’t know what my grade is yet, but I felt good about turning this body of work in at school last week. This was the first assignment we’ve had that didn’t have a lot of specific requirements, it was pretty open ended which was a nice change. The Additional Personal Submissions were basically assigned to help us round out our portfolios, create images that will help us market our services, and shoot what interests us. The underwater shoots and the newborn shoot were new experiences for me, and I really enjoyed them! Playing with my new underwater gear with friends in a local indoor pool was a blast, as were the more classical portrait sessions. Thank you to everyone who contributed!
I’m back in Massachusetts after a really fun and relaxing Spring Break in Savannah. I’m ready to get back to my crazy schedule, work hard, kick some photographic butt, and learn as much as I can in the last few months of school (ever!?). I know I’ll miss Hallmark after we graduate from the program in June.

On Spring Break without Wifi…

Hello friends! I’m dying to share some of my recent work, however, I’m currently visiting my brother and my sister-in-law-to-be in Savannah, Georgia and can’t get an internet connection on my laptop (I’m using Pyar’s). So, I’ll be posting a bunch of photos when I return to Massachusetts in a few days; make sure to check back! Its been great getting to relax here in Georgia. Its wonderful seeing people I love and getting to play in the sunshine! Lots of bike riding today, and tomorrow Pyar and I are going sea kayaking! We’re watching The Office at the moment. Hope you’re all doing well and you fellow Hallmarkers are really enjoying our much needed break.

February personal work

Here is some of my favorite personal work from February. For some reason they all feature a hand or hands. I’ve been insanely busy with school. Some days are spent at school from seven in the morning until one in the morning straight…eek! Needless to say, I’m exhausted, but I am really happy to be here continually learning from the amazing staff and students.
