  • Hello. Welcome to my blog!

Please check out our new fine art photography and graphic design business! www.paulandjewel.com

This blog is no longer active but it is a great chronicle through my initial first few years as a photographer. The blog started while I was at photography school in Massachusetts, covers my time working in Florida and Georgia, and chronicles our recent 6 month adventure working with orphans in Thailand. Thanks for visiting!

Beach + life

My life right now is so very full of crazy, exciting things! Professionally and personally. I’m working with several photographers, I’m booking up my Spring/Summer in Savannah with Jewel Imaging brides and portrait clients, I’m planning my own wedding, I’m planning a huge project/adventure overseas, I’m planning a new business in a new place and I’m preparing for married life! WOW. All of those amazing things. They’re all happening. Most of the time I’m filled with giddy excitement but I have to admit that sometimes I just feel overwhelmed. That’s when I step back, unbury myself from all the paperwork, and stand in awe of these incredible blessings. And the people in my life who stand by me, support me, and encourage me to fulfill my dreams. Elaboration will follow at some point!

Paul and I try to spend a good portion of our weekends doing photowalks and bike rides. Here are a few photos from a recent walk on Tybee with the 100mm. The last photo is Paul’s (he has been improving exponentially every time he picks up a camera). I really love that Savannah is a mere twenty minutes from the beach. Tybee Island will always be a special place for me.

Happy Valentine’s Day!

Thank you to all of my Valentines who keep up with this blog! You are amazing. I hope you’ve had the chance to give yourself a little extra pampering today.

Last night Paul and I had a lowkey celebration and made a special meal together; Penne with Broccoli Rabe, Walnuts and Pecorino. It actually turned out very well! It was fun learning how to make another new meal and of course making a huge mess in the tiny kitchen. Eventually I think we’ll start posting every once in awhile about our adventures in vegetarian cooking.

We just made these chocolate covered strawberries which are cooling! About to hunker down and enjoy the berries and a quiet movie-night. Perfect. I hope your evening has been just as pleasant. Love and peace to you.

Intimate Savannah Georgia Destination Wedding

I had the honor of second shooting this December wedding with the amazing Teresa of Memories N More Photography who gave me permission to share my images here. Please take a look at the slideshow above or scroll through the images below to see the story of this sweet day!

Letitia and Miles traveled to Georgia from Illinois for this intimate Savannah destination wedding. The weather was perfect and they were surrounded by so much love, support and happiness; it couldn’t have been a more beautiful celebration. On a personal note, I will always remember their wedding because a few hours after leaving the reception at the end of the night my man proposed to me (and I said yes)!

Preparations: The Avia Hotel

Ceremony: The Whitefield Chapel at The Bethesda Home for Boys

Reception: The Olde Pink House
