Boston weekend

I spent last weekend in Boston with my fiance and his family! We planned the trip so that we could see his brother’s senior recital at The New England Conservatory; I had never heard anything like it! It was fun exploring (Copley Square, Paul Revere’s home, the freedom trail, etc.), seeing the Boston Symphony, going to the aquarium and touching a silky sting ray!

I was also able to see one of my best friends who lives in Boston now. I hadn’t been to Massachusetts since graduating from The Hallmark Institute almost two years ago, so it was cool to be back in New England for a few days! I love visiting cities but I think I’ll stick to living in smaller towns or suburbs; I long for clean air, quiet and green. I hope you enjoy these photos and have fun this weekend! Love and peace!

my “one”

married on the beach of Tybee Island

I’m grateful that I was able to create these photos at a Tybee Island Wedding celebration today; these are a few of my favorites. Despite heavy winds, there was a bit of blue in the sky and it was a perfect Spring morning for a little beach wedding. After sharing sincere vows, the two walked hand-in-hand towards the horizon, allowing the enormity of the moment to sink in while their toes dug into soft, warm yellow sand. When they neared the foamy shore, the cool water lapped at their feet, the wind blew through their hair, her white gown fluttered, and they smiled in a new way.

T+A Savannah Elopement

These are a few of my favorite images from an elopement I photographed yesterday. T+A chose The Gastonian, one of Savannah’s beautiful Historic Inns. It was just T+A, the officiant, and me! They had never been to Savannah before so they have been enjoying every second of the city’s warmth and fairy tale charm. After spending eleven steadfast years together, T+A are now beginning a new chapter in their love story as husband and wife!  It was such an honor documenting this day for them.

L+A beach engagement session – Tybee Island

It was so much fun creating these engagement portraits with Lindsey and Allen yesterday on Tybee! We had been exchanging emails for awhile so it was great to finally meet them in person. I think you can tell from the photos that these two are wonderfully exuberant, laid back and very much in love with each other. They have been together since college graduation almost 5 years ago. Their giggly, appreciative smiles say it all. I can’t wait to photograph their Savannah wedding in just a few weeks! Here are some of my favorites from our session on North Beach.

photoshop world + lately

I spent this past week at the Photoshop World conference in Orlando. It was 3 full days jam packed with different imaging classes! I drove down from Savannah and picked up my dad from the airport so we could attend together (he is a photographer and digital artist). It was the largest conference I’d ever been to. Contrary to the conference name, I didn’t take any actual Photoshop classes! Most of the classes that I chose were on Adobe Lightroom software and photography/lighting technique. I took classes with fabulous instructors such as Kelby, Concepcion, Ziser, McNally, Kost, Mautner, and Caponigro. I was able to hear Jeremy Cowart speak and meet him afterward. His projects have inspired me and impacted me over the past couple of years, so that was a major highlight! Though it was a positive experience, I don’t think I will attend PSW again simply because I’ve gotten to a point where there are very specific things I know I want to learn and improve in my work and business. So, I think more specialized classes and modes of learning will generally be best for me as I go forward in continuing my education. Below are a few pictures that I grabbed in the expo center between classes!

I’ve been a busy lady lately with this trip and 2nd shooting the past two Saturdays! Will post recent work soon. Love and peace!

Westcott had some beautiful models and sets up to demonstrate their lighting products. She looked my way for a second and I grabbed this shot.
